A Big Weekend for Alberta Roller Derby!
This past weekend, the E-Ville Dead rocked the Riot in the Red tournament hosted by the Winnipeg Roller Derby League, winning their four WFTDA-sanctioned matches and moving up the ranks to #5 in Canada! Great work team!
This weekend also marked the first time that an Alberta derby team competed in the WFTDA D2 Playoffs when our good friends (and friendly rivals!), the Calgary Roller Derby Association All Stars played in Lansing, Michigan. They killed it, landing first place and a spot in the WFTDA Championships in Portland, Oregon later this year! Congratulations ladies, we couldn't be happier to see all of your hard work pay off. And a big shout-out to Easy Break Oven, the team's captain, for earning Tournament MVP!
